Cooperative Profile

ficelco-officeFICELCO was established in October 28, 1971 as a non-stock, non-profit distribution utility. Being one of the first electric cooperatives to be organized in the country, FICELCO was able to survive the many challenges that came along the way, from the fuel price hike, compulsory wage increases, heavy maintenance costs to typhoons and power outages. And in several years back, we are one of the Coops in Region V who maintained A+ Categorization. Being the sole franchise holder in Catanduanes in terms of electric distribution, we continue to serve 42,268 member-consumers of the 315 barangays that covers the municipalities of Bagamanoc, Baras, Bato, Caramoran, Gigmoto, Pandan, Panganiban, San Andres, San Miguel, Viga and Virac. Member-consumers from these municipalities are represented by 7 Board of Directors. District 1 comprises Gigmoto-Baras, District 2 is Bato, District 3 covers San Andres, District 4 is San Miguel. The Municipality of Virac under District V and District VI is composed of Caramoran and Pandan while District VII is clustered by Bagamanoc, Panganiban and Viga. As of today, we were able to achieve 100% electrification on level.

And today, FICELCO is about change. Change in terms of how we deliver service to meet the ever changing demands of the market. Change in terms of how we meet the inreasing needs of our member-consumers. Change in tion utilityterms of how we offer new opportunities for our human resources in order to deliver better service.

FICELCO will continue to execute the mandate of rural electrification of the farthest barangay and the remotest sitios. We will continue to stay committed to service and development.
